Mainland Chinese carriers add Europe, Sydney flights – Business Traveller

In their most recent schedule update, several Mainland Chinese carriers have flagged new services from Chongqing and Wenzhou to Paris, Madrid and Sydney.

More specifically, SkyTeam member China Eastern Airlines will launch a twice-weekly Wenzhou-Madrid service commencing 22 November.

The route will be operated by the airline’s latest new-technology long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900.

China Eastern’s A350-900s seat 40 passengers in business class across a 1-2-1 configuration, while premium economy is in a 2-4-2 setup, and regular economy is in a 3-3-3 layout.

China Eastern currently has 18 A350s in service, with more on order.

Separately, other Mainland Chinese carrier, Hainan Airlines, plans to resume its Chongqing-Paris CDG route on 28 November.

Initially, that service is scheduled to operate just once a week, on Tuesdays.

Hainan will deploy a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Chongqing-Paris service, with capacity for 30 1-2-1 configured business class passengers and 262 economy class passengers.

Furthermore, Hainan Airlines sister carrier under the HNA Group umbrella, Tianjin Airlines, plans to add a twice-weekly Chongqing-Sydney route starting 27 November.

Tianjin Airlines expects to deploy an Airbus A330-200 on the service with a dedicated 18-seat, lie-flat business class cabin, and standard economy class.
