The Israeli government called for all civilians in Gaza City to be evacuated within 24 hours, according to a statement issued Friday morning by the Israel Defense Forces that was “sent to civilians of Gaza City” and to the United Nations.

The United Nations was given a copy of the evacuation orders by Israeli officials as the IDF continues to pound the strip with hundreds of airstrikes. The IDF has dropped at least 6,000 precision-guided bombs in just six days, inflicting an immense amount of damage on Hamas’s ability to wage terrorism.
The Israeli air force on Thursday said it had dropped 6,000 bombs against Hamas targets so far — a staggering number over the course of six days, according to warfare experts.
“Israel is dropping in less than a week what the U.S. was dropping in Afghanistan in a year, in a much smaller, much more densely populated area, where mistakes are going to be magnified,” said Marc Garlasco, a military adviser at the Dutch organization PAX for Peace and a former U.N. war crimes investigator in Libya. He helped plan airstrikes for the Pentagon during the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
With no orders given to invade the strip, experts are still anticipating that the IDF will invade Gaza as they continue to build up their forces in the area. Where and when they decide to execute their operational plan remains to be seen and will most likely be kept secret until it commences.
With Israel cutting off power and water to the strip, time is not on Hamas’s side at all, as they will weaken with time. However, the hostages that Hamas has will also suffer from the same thing and that is being taken into account by the Israeli government and the IDF. Israel controls the sea border of Gaza, as well as the entire length of the land border up to Egypt – and Egypt will not take in Gazans because of security concerns. Given this fact, Gaza residents have a difficult choice on their hands, do they continue to support their terrorist overlords, or rise up in revolt against their oppressors? However, the hope that they will overthrow Hamas is very low, as civilians continue to publicly support Hamas and their attacks on Israel.
