An Iranian teenage girl, whose collapse in a Tehran metro raised public anger and suspicion that she had been attacked by morality patrol officers for not covering her hair, has died in hospital, according to Iranian state media.
Armita Geravand, 16 years old, had been in a coma since Oct. 1. That day she had entered a subway car in Tehran, wearing her short black hair uncovered, and seconds later was dragged out, unconscious, and laid on the platform. She was pronounced brain dead last week.
