Hotel de la Ville, a Rocco Forte Hotel

1/14

The lobby of Hotel de la Ville gives off a stylish impression. Walking through the lobby toward the reception desk, you’ll notice the graphic patterned floor tiles and a table with a globe and other items.

2/14

We began our tour at the hotel’s rooftop bar and restaurant, Cielo.

3/14

We believe that Cielo is one of the city’s best rooftop options. The bar doesn’t take reservations, but the restaurant does.

4/14

Rooms and suites feature plush furnishings, like velvet sofas and ornate mirrors.

5/14

The suites we toured have separate living areas and bedrooms outfitted in rich textiles and comfortable furniture.

6/14

The suites feature decorative items inspired by Roman art and architecture, like this replica statuette of the elephant statue by Bernini in the Piazza della Minerva near the Pantheon.

7/14

A handful of the suites come with a private terrace, where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning or just sit and read a book.

8/14

We learned during our tour that the views vary greatly depending on your room. Some accommodations face the inner courtyard, while others have breathtaking views of the city’s terracotta rooftops.

9/14

Mosaico restaurant serves breakfast and has tables in the hotel’s interior courtyard.

10/14

We were particularly impressed by Mosaico restaurant’s beautiful design, dominated by black and white, with pops of color in the potted palms and rattan chairs.

11/14

Julep Bar extends into this seating area featuring Piranesi prints and other decor inspired by the grand tour.

12/14

Julep Bar also has tables and chairs opposite the bar counter in this room, enveloped in blue damask wallpaper.

13/14

Our final stop, Da Sistina restaurant sits on the hotel’s ground floor and is open in the winter.
