Four Seasons to open property in Florida’s Jacksonville – Business Traveller

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to open a new property in Jacksonville, Florida in 2026.

The hotel group has partnered with Shahid Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL), to launch the property.

The 170-room new-build hotel, which will also include 26 private residences, will be located on the banks of the St Johns River in downtown Jacksonville, offering waterfront views and access to a redeveloped marina. There will be four dining and lounge outlets, including a rooftop restaurant and bar, all-day restaurant, pool bar and grill and lobby bar, along with a gym, multiple outdoor pools, expansive meeting and event space and a kids club.

The hotel group says that it will be the “centrepiece” of the Jacksonville Shipyards development, a two-phase project which will feature office space, a full-service marina, a reinvigorated Metropolitan Park and a public park and mixed-use developments including a medical component.

The hotel will be located adjacent to the Sports Complex and proposed Stadium of the Future – the latter is set to serve as the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars and host national and international sports and entertainment events.

Bart Carnahan, executive VP Global Business Development and Portfolio Management at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, commented:

“As Jacksonville continues to enhance its offerings for people to live, work and play, we look forward to working with Mr. Khan to expand our presence in Florida and extend our long-time partnership together, contributing to the city’s bright future and achieving our shared vision of building communities and creating exceptional luxury experiences.”

Khan, who already owns Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, added:

“Four Seasons is an iconic brand that will redefine Downtown Jacksonville and provide a luxury destination that we have been unable to offer until now. Jacksonville, in turn, will offer the new Four Seasons Hotel a spectacular setting on the banks of the St. Johns River and provide our entire community a reason to rally around the Shipyards, the Stadium of the Future and the overall future of Downtown Jacksonville. I’ve said all along that Four Seasons will be a game-changer for Jacksonville, and the change begins now.”

Design is being led by HKS, which has worked on Four Seasons projects in the Bahamas, Hawaii, Orlando and Denver, with ODA Architecture for the interiors and EDSA for landscape design.

The hotel will join a number of properties in the Sunshine State in locations including Orlando, Palm Beach, Surfside, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, with an upcoming resort also set to open in the city of Naples in Florida. Last year the hotel group opened US properties in Nashville and Minneapolis, as well as renovating its property in Houston.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts currently operates 126 hotels and resorts in 47 countries around the world, with more than 50 projects under planning or development.
