Foreign Nationals Start to Leave Gaza at Egyptian Border

Foreign nationals and wounded Palestinians began to leave Gaza for the first time since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, according to Egyptian officials, providing limited relief to the enclave’s humanitarian crisis amid Israel’s mounting military operations.

On Wednesday, dozens of people from Gaza crossed into Egypt at Rafah, a crossing point along the enclave’s border with Egypt, Egyptian officials said, without disclosing their nationalities. An American trying to leave said it didn’t appear that U.S., U.K. or Canadian nationals were being allowed to evacuate yet.
