Corn hole game in Lancaster County raising money to fight blood cancers
Residents in Lancaster County came together to have some fun for a great cause on Saturday. The 5th annual Corn Hole Tournament was held in East Hempfield Township to raise money to fight blood cancers. The group “Team We Believe” is raising money in honor of one of the team members who was diagnosed with leukemia.Kim Albert, of Harrisburg, is a hair stylist who lost her hair during cancer treatment but has now been in remission for eight years.”Sisters are, you know, your best friends. So that’s why we’re here. And that’s why we do it every single year. We raise money for not only people, you know, leukemia, lymphoma, also for research and all the things that go behind it to help people fight this every day,” said Albert.Last year’s corn hole tournament raised more than $12,000.
