Alliant Cashback Visa® Signature Card Review

Alliant Cashback Visa® Signature Card is one of the highest-earning flat-rate rewards cards on the market. Eligible cardholders earn 2.5% cash back on up to $10,000 in purchases each billing cycle each billing cycle. After that, you’ll earn 1.5% cash back. However, you must open an Alliant high-rate checking account to earn the 2.5% cash back on up to $10,000 in purchases each billing cycle – otherwise, you’ll earn 1.5% cash back on all purchases. There’s no annual fee or foreign transaction fee.

The card also comes with Visa Signature benefits, including personal identity theft protection, purchase security, travel accident insurance, an auto rental collision damage waiver, roadside dispatch assistance and extended warranty protection.

  • Don’t want to pay an annual fee.
  • Have or want to open an Alliant high-rate checking account.

The Alliant Cashback Visa® Signature Card doesn’t earn a sign-up bonus, but you’ll earn a solid 2.5% cash back on up to $10,000 in purchases each billing cycle. After that, all purchases earn a respectable 1.5% cash back. It’s a good idea to use this card for all purchases where it earns more cash back than other cards in your wallet. Still, the 2.5% cash back on up to $10,000 in purchases each billing cycle comes with an asterisk: You must have an Alliant high-rate checking account to earn the 2.5% rate, so you should plan to open an account if you don’t already have one.

Editor’s Take

Earning 2.5% cash back on up to $10,000 in purchases each billing cycle is tough to beat, though you’ll have to maintain a qualifying checking account with an average daily balance of $1,000 or more to get this rate. Checking account holders must also have at least one deposit posted to the account each month. This card is a good fit if you want to earn a high cash back rate on most purchases and either have or would like to open a qualifying Alliant checking account.

There’s no sign-up bonus with the Alliant Cashback Visa® Signature Card.

You must have an Alliant high-rate checking account to earn 2.5% cash back on up to $10,000 in purchases each billing cycle, so if you don’t have an account yet, you should get one when you open this card. Otherwise, you’ll earn 1.5% cash back, which is still good, but not outstanding like the 2.5% cash back rate. You can redeem cash back as a credit card statement or deposit into your Alliant checking or savings account.
