LNER has launched its Christmas menu for first class customers, which is available until 3 January, 2024.
This year’s menu comes with a festive cocktail, designed exclusively for LNER by Tom Savano. The blood orange Christmas Cosmo include lime, cranberry and vodka, while further festive drinks include an apple and sweet cinnamon tea produced by Taylors of Harrogate.
Dishes on the Christmas menu include a turkey and cranberry ‘sausage’ roll, topped with sage and black onion seeds and served with an orange, spiced carrot and pumpkin ketchup; a cheese and slaw sandwich served on malted wheat grain bread; and ravioli with burrata, truffle and spinach sauce. This will be followed by a chocolate and hazelnut dessert pot or Baileys chocolate truffles.
Customers in standard class can also purchase a ham and slaw sandwich, truffle crisps and the vegan and gluten-free ‘Yummycomb’ – a sharing bag of honeycomb pieces coated in dark chocolate orange, made in York. Passengers can order these snacks from their seat by scanning a QR code.
Richard Judge, head of customer experience at LNER, said:
“Nothing helps you get into the spirit of Christmas quite like food and drink and this menu provides passengers with a complimentary festive feast. Thanks to a dedicated team at LNER, it features some of the finest culinary suppliers from across our route and we’re proud to be supporting local businesses.
“The customer experience is a priority to us and the delicious dishes onboard are just one of the ways we can ensure a pleasant journey for our passengers travelling this winter.”
