The month of September is coming to an end. There are certain important financial tasks which have kept September 30 as the deadline. Let’s take a look at them.

Adding Nominee to the Demat Account

A Demat account is usually used by people who invest their money in the stock market or in mutual funds. Now, the government has made it mandatory to add a nominee to the demat account. SEBI has set September 30 as the last date to add a nominee to the demat account. If a person fails to do so, the account will be frozen, and they will not be able to invest in the stock market or in mutual funds. This will create a lot of hurdles when trading starts in October.

Aadhar Submission Mandate for Subscribers of Small Saving Schemes

In India, many people have subscribed to small savings schemes. According to the notification issued by the Finance Ministry of India, it is mandatory for the subscribers of the Small Savings Scheme to submit their Aadhaar by September 30. This mandate is for those people who were not able to submit their Aadhaar numbers while opening their account in the Public Provident Fund (PPF), Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), National Savings Certificate (NSC), Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS), or any other small savings scheme.

WeCare scheme’s Closing Date

SBI’s WeCare Scheme was made for senior citizens. In the scheme, they get enhanced interest rates on fixed deposits (FDs) with tenures of 5 years and above. Now, only a few days are left to apply for the scheme, as the last date is September 30. The scheme is quite popular and offers excellent returns to senior citizens.

Last Date to Exchange the Rs 2,000 Notes

Earlier in May 2023, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the phasing out of the Rs 2000 note. The central bank had requested that people deposit the Rs 2,000 thousand notes in banks by September 30, 2023, or exchange them with notes of other denominations. After this date, the Rs 2000 notes will not be in use.
