Morty’s loan marketplace offers a variety of mortgage products, including:
- Fixed-rate loans.
- Adjustable-rate loans.
- Federal Housing Administration loans.
- Jumbo loans.
Even though Morty’s platform does not offer Veterans Affairs or U.S. Department of Agriculture loans, the company can connect interested borrowers with partners.
You can view mortgage loan quotes by creating a free account. Morty’s online platform also offers preapproval and makes it possible to lock in your loan rate once a seller accepts your offer. Qualified buyers can use Morty’s Quick Close Advantage to close on their loan in as little as 14 business days.
Borrowers can get conventional 15-, 20- and 30-year fixed-rate mortgages and 10/5, 7/6 and 5/6 ARMs through Morty. It’s only possible to use Morty’s platform if you’re buying a primary residence, second home or investment property. The minimum down payment requirement for homebuyers buying single-family homes is 3%. You’ll need to put 15% down to buy a two-unit property and 20% down to buy a three- or four-unit property. You can view current mortgage rates on Morty’s website.
If Morty causes your eligible loan to close up to one business day after the closing date, Morty will waive appraisal fees. If your closing is even more delayed, Morty will provide a $2,000 Visa gift card. With an account, new homeowners can also get discounts on moving services, furniture and more from Morty’s partners.
To get a loan through Morty, applicants will need to have held a job in either the same field or similar fields for at least two years and may not have any gaps of more than 60 days between jobs. The maximum acceptable debt-to-income ratio is 45%. The minimum FICO score is 580.
What Credit Score Do You Need?
Morty requires a minimum FICO score of 580. In addition, you can only have one payment that is 30 days past due in the last 12 months. You won’t qualify if you have collections or charge-offs with balances above $2,000, not counting medical collections. Getting your credit checked for a mortgage application can affect your credit score, but you can minimize the impact by getting all your rate estimates within 14 days.
